1. Youth and Disabled Hunters

• Disabled Sportsman Permit: This permit applies to disabled hunter participants. Before acquiring this permit, please read section 2.5 of the JBLE-I 32-102. Please contact 733d CES Wildlife Biologist for a disabled hunter validation. This permit is good for deer hunting on Fort Eustis, to include archery deer season, muzzleloader deer season, and general firearms deer season. It also includes a fishing permit, boating permit, and archery range permit. This permit DOES NOT include entry into any lottery hunts.

• Youth Sportsman Permit: This permit applies to youth ages 15 and under as of the day of the license purchase. Youth permits allow participation in hunting and fishing during the defined youth seasons set forth by VA DWR as well as the general hunting seasons on Fort Eustis. This permit includes all deer hunting, waterfowl hunting, small game and predator hunting, and fishing at Fort Eustis. Youth hunters must be accompanied by a licensed and permitted adult hunter in accordance with Section 2.5 of the JBLE-I 32-102. This permit DOES NOT include entry into any lottery hunts. Youth cannot apply for management lottery hunts. PRICE: Free

2. Sportsman Permit
This permit is valid 1 year from date of purchase. This permit purchases ALL required hunting, fishing, and boating permits on Fort Eustis. This permit DOES NOT include entry into any lottery hunts or special fishing events.

3. Deer Hunting Permit
Anyone 16 years or older (at the time of license purchase) is required to purchase a deer hunting permit to participate in deer hunting on Fort Eustis. There are 3 deer hunting seasons at Fort Eustis and permits for each can be purchased seperatley or as a combination deer hunting permit. Deer hunting permits DO NOT include entry into any lottery hunts. 

4. Waterfowl Permit
Anyone 16 years or older (at the time of license purchase) is required to purchase a waterfowl hunting permit to participate in waterfowl hunting at Fort Eustis. This permit allows access to all interior and exterior blinds, ponds, and waterfowl markers. This permit DOES NOT include entry into any lottery hunts.

5. Small Game and Predator Permit
Anyone 16 years or older (at the time of license purchase) is required to purchase a small game and predator hunting permit to participate in small game and predator hunting at Fort Eustis. This permit allows hunting small game and predators from a deer hunting location during the deer season, and from within a Small Game (SG) hunting area outside of deer seasons. This permit DOES NOT include entry into any lottery hunts.

7. Fishing Permit
Anyone 16 years or older (at the time of license purchase) is required to purchase a fishing permit to participate in freshwater and saltwater fishing at Fort Eustis. This permit allows utilization of both freshwater and saltwater locations on Fort Eustis. Please see the fishing map for approved locations. This permit DOES NOT include entry into any special fishing events.

8. Boating Permit
This permit gives permission to launch and recover watercraft from Fort Eustis watercraft launch locations. Checkin and Checkout rules do apply, please see JBLE I 32-102 for further boating details.  This permit DOES NOT allow entry into restricted areas, interior creeks, or wetlands at Fort Eustis. Once departed all Coast Guard and State Boating Regulations apply.

9. Archery Range Permit
This permit allows access to the archery range located south of the golf course on Mulberry Island Rd. Targets are provided for use, and there is a fee to offset the cost of archery range maintenence, targets, and shelters.

10. Turkey Lottery
This lottery allows a chance to win a spring gobbler turkey hunting opportunity (April and May). Maximum of 1 entry per person per lottery.  Winners are drawn at random by the iSportsman Lottery Program.  1st winner gets 1st pick of hunting location and date(s). Those who have entered the lottery but did not win, are automatically entered into the stand-by list, which are drawn at random by the iSportsman Lottery Program to fill additional hunting opportunities.  Each winning participant will be allowed a maximum of 2 spring gobble hunts. Only one bearded turkey may be harvested per winner.  The lottery fee is for a ticket to enter the lottery, regardless of winning status.

11. Dove Lottery
Coming soon....This lottery is for special dove hunting events at Fort Eustis. Maximum of 1 entry per person per lottery.  Winners are drawn at random by the iSportsman Lottery Program. 1st winner gets 1st pick of location and date(s). Those who have entered the lottery but did not win, are automatically entered into the stand-by list, which are drawn at random by the iSportsman Lottery Program to fill additional hunting opportunities.  Each winning participant will be allowed a maximum of 1 special dove hunting opportunity per lottery.
PRICE: $10 for entry

12. Deer Managment Lotteries
There are two types of deer management lotteries are offered at Fort Eustis (below).  Maximum of 1 entry per person per lottery.  Winners are drawn at random by the iSportsman Lottery Program.  1st winner gets 1st pick of hunting location. Those who have entered the lottery but did not win, are automatically entered into the stand-by list, which are drawn at random by the iSportsman Lottery Program to fill stand-by hunting opportunities during that lottery management hunt.

Please read the lottery entry ticket description carefully as it defines where and when you must arrive for the managment hunt and what you are required to bring. At a minumum: winning lottery ticket, climbing tree stand, safety harness, working flash light, and 100 square inches of blaze orange or pink are required for each management hunt participant. There are NO REFUNDS if you are unable to attend. 

• Cantonment Area Management Lotteries.  These are afternoon only management hunts conducted by a lottery drawing. Entry and winning tickets PRICE: Free.  Archery proficiency qualifications are required and are good for 2 years from date of qualification. Please contact the Wildlife Biologist to schedule qualification assessment. There is a fee to offset the cost of qualification targets and materials.
  PRICE: $5 (valid for 2 years)
• Impact Area Management Lotteries.  These are full day management hunts conducted by a lottery drawing.  Entry tickets are free, however there is a fee to offset the costs of equipment and materials assocation with the impact area management lotteries. This is applied to the winning ticket if drawn. PRICE: $5.  

13. Waterfowl Lotteries
This lottery is for special waterfowl hunting opportunities at Fort Eustis. Maximum of 1 entry per person per lottery.  Winners are drawn at random by the iSportsman Lottery Program. 1st winner gets 1st pick of location and date(s). Those who have entered the lottery but did not win, are automatically entered into the stand-by list, which are drawn at random by the iSportsman Lottery Program to fill additional hunting opportunities.  Each winning participant will be allowed a maximum of 1 special waterfowl hunting opportunity per lottery.  EVENTS NOT SCHEDULED AT THIS TIME.
