General FAQ

1. How do I create an iSportsman Account?

a. 1) Navigate tohttps://jble.isportsman.net/ 
2) Click “My Account” on the blue top banner
3) “New User Registration”
4) Create an account name and password, provide your contact information and DOB; then hit theyellow “Continue” button
5) Provide additional Registration Information and “Save”
6) Please make sure your cell phone and vehicle information is correct.
7) Click the Blue “I Accept” Button

2. How do I retake my annual safety brief/quiz?

a. 1) Log intohttps://jble.isportsman.net/
2) Click “My Safety Briefs” on the blue top banner
3) Click “I Accept” on the Hunter Education Screen Acknowledgement screen
4) Click “I Accept” on the Weapons Registration Screen
5) It will take a few seconds…. “Public Surveys” should appear on the screen, followed by “TakeQuiz”
6) Click on “Safety Brief.”
7) You are required to watch the UXO safety brief and wait for the 240 second countdown
8) You are required to pass quiz, take it as many times as you need to pass it
9) Click “Submit”
10) “Refresh” the page and you should see a green “check mark” with the date that you passed the quiz

3. How do I acquire a permit for hunting/fishing/archery/boating?

a. 1) Click on “Available Permits” on the blue top banner
2)You may need to refresh or click this a few time for the page to update after taking the quiz
3) Scroll down to the Fishing Box that contains “JBLE Fishing Permit”
4) Select the “add to Cart” button
5) Follow prompts to purchase permit using a credit or debit card
6) Alternatively, navigate to the “My Account” Tab and then “Home”
7) On the left side of the page click the blue “Acquire Permit(s)
8) Scroll down to the Fishing Box that contains “JBLE Fishing Permit”
9) Select the “add to Cart” button
10) Follow prompts to purchase permit using a credit or debit card

4. How do I check-in to participate in an activity offered at Fort Eustis?

a. 1) From the home page, click on the blue button labeled check-in / check-out
2) Select Check In
3) Click each activity, location, location number that you would like to check-in to
4) Accept any acknowledgments and complete guest/tandem information
5) There is a blue “Confirm” bar that will be flashing. Click Confirm
6) Once you see the green circle with a check mark in it, you have completed the check-in process
7) Please remember that check-in is first come first served.

5. How do I check-out after I am done with my activity?

a. 1) From the home page, click on the blue button labeled Check-in / Checkout
2) Select Red “Checkout” button
3) Accept any acknowledgments and complete guest/tandem information
4) You are required, IAW JBLE-I 32-102, to provide any data that is asked during the checkout process. ISportsman is not used for daily bag limits, therefore if you are participating with guests or tandem, you should include their data in your checkout process. Failure to provide harvest information will subject you to penalty IAW the JBLE-I 32-102 NOVAA table
5) There is a blue “Confirm” bar that will be flashing. Click Confirm
6) Once you see the green circle with a check mark in it, you have been checked out
7) Failure to checkout by required checkout times will result in Administrative Holds being placed on your account (IAW JBLE-I 32-102)

6. How do I add an additional vehicle to my account?

 a.   1) Log into your account-Under "My Account" tab, open "Account Details"
2) Under "Account Details", open "Manage Account"
3) Under "Manage Account", scroll down to "Vehicles" and open "+ Add New"
4)Make sure you click "Save" after entering all vehicle information, then reprint parking pass.

Hunting FAQ

1. How much is a permit to fish, hunt, recreate or boat?

a. Please see the section labeled Fort Eustis Permits under the Permit Tab.

2. Do I need to qualify for the impact management hunt?

a. No, you only need to qualify for the cantonment and golf course hunts.

3. When can I qualify for the cantonment and golf course hunts?

a. Times Vary, please contact the Wildlife Biologist for availability. 

4. How to check-in a guest for a tandem hunting asset?

a. For Deer hunting (Tandem or Youth):
1)Log into your iSportsman account
2) Click “check-in”
3) Navigate acknowledgments
4) Choose deer hunting
At this point, you should see all available asset numbers (for example, 2302) and “Spots Remaining” beneath the asset number.  
5) You will then be asked if you have any guests.
6) If you are hunting alone, then you select “NO.” 
7) If you are hunting as a group, then you select “YES.”

b. For Waterfowl hunting:
1)Log into your iSportsman account
2) Click “check-in”
3) Navigate acknowledgments
4) Choose exterior or interior waterfowl hunting
At this point, you should see all available asset numbers (for example, 23DB14) and “Spots Remaining” beneath the asset number.    
NOTE: While the occupancy of each waterfowl hunting location is 4, the “Spots Remaining” will now show 1. iSportsman will close each waterfowl hunting location following the completion of the check-in process by the first waterfowl hunter. This eliminates “double booking”. 
5) Following your selection of a waterfowl hunting asset, you will be asked if there are additional participants. (Your response is always “NO.”)
6) You will then be asked if you have any guests.
7) If you are hunting alone, then you select “NO.” 
8) If you are hunting as a group, then you select “YES.”

5. What happens if two people sign in to the exact stand at the same time?

a. On popular hunting days, there may be instances where two hunters reserve the same stand or tandem stand.  In the event that you see 2 occupancies for a stand, or a tandem stand with 2 hunters that did not sign each other in, PLEASE refer to the check-in time on your check-in confirmation. This occurs when two hunters finish the check-in process within less than a second of each other, and both hunters may be issued the same stand. In this case, please sign out and find another stand, there are plenty of other stands to choose from. The Wildlife Biologist or the Fish and Wildlife officer is NOT responsible for settling check-in disputes.

6. Why do I need to submit a jawbone?

a. Jawbone are required for the wildlife biologist to get an understanding of the overall age structure and health of the herd. This information is used to help better manage the herd for the future.

7. Is rifle hunting permitted on Fort Eustis

a. No, please see JBLE-I 32-102 for information regarding which weapons are allowed for hunting on the installation.

8. Am I required to carry a paper copy of my weapons registration?

a. Yes, you are required to have a proof of your weapons registration on you while recreating or transporting a firearm on Fort Eustis. A digital copy is acceptable.  However, if you are unable to access your digital copy, due to cellular service or phone issues, you could be cited for failure to register weapons with the installation.

9. How can i get a stand repaired, modified, or replaced?

a. If you have a comment or suggestion about deer stands or waterfowl assets, please contact your Sportsman's Council member or the Wildlife Biologist. Feel free to report incorrectly marked stand locations, unclear trails, stands that need shooting lanes, tree stands, or waterfowl assets that are in need of repair or replaced. Please help us provide the best hunting opportunity by reporting any issues you encounter while hunting. DO NOT USE WOODEN STANDS.  Only metal ladder stands are operational and provided by 733 CES. All others are NOT to be used.
